Fishing with my father, earlier than I can remember, created a lifelong addiction for which I am thankful. We spent countless hours on streams and lakes along with the yearly migration to Canada. We camped on Elk Creek in Northwest PA during the fall, winter, and spring seasons chasing steelhead from New York to Ohio. As a youth, Pennsylvania’s opening day, trout season was something of a ritual, with last minute trips to the tackle shop and sleepless nights anticipating the next day’s fishing excursion. I am grateful for these memories, and although my father is no longer with me, I continue these traditions with friends and family, understanding the importance of this time.
Working in the architectural design and custom woodworking industry for the past 33 years and being a fish junky has brought me to this conclusion; hand craft beautiful and functional, Wood Landing Nets. Custom net making is an integral part of my woodworking and furniture shop. I have found that crafting nets has provided a means to redeem my time as new memories are forged.
