Are you the kind of angler who stares at blue lines on topographical maps trying to find that next native brook trout or wild brown hot spot? Do you frequently battle tangles of wild grapes, bushwhack through waist-high stinging nettles or army-crawl up to the edge of a small stream to make the perfect cast? If you have done all of these things for a chance at a 7” native brookie or 10” wild brown, then the #3 is surely your net.
This net is small enough to remain within the confines of the back, not snagging on limbs and brush as you explore small, mountain streams in rugged country. It can easily be fixed to a backpack for a backcountry overnight fishing trip, too. However, you will be thankful you brought the #3 along to land that 10” monster brookie!
Nets have been field tested from Montana to Maine along with the punishing Lake Erie winter conditions of ‘Steelhead Alley.’ During this design and development process extensive modification to size/shape and finish occurred resulting in a beautifully proportioned net with a superb finish. As like anything else, some wear can be expected over the course of time. Battle scars will occur even with the most durable finish.
Figured wood landing nets are fabricated with a seven (7) laminate hoop selected from the finest quality material. Woods are meticulously inspected for the finest figure. Laminates and handle are pre-formed in the gluing forms for inspection of a perfect fit and then assembled. Once removed from the forms hand shaping and sanding begins along with lashing groove / holes installed. Net frames are hand sanded and meticulously inspected prior to the finishing process.
The finishing process is the magic that brings the figured wood to life. Net frames are dye colored followed by two (2) coats of oil and ten (10) coats high impact clear coat. Finishes cure for 5-7 days before being wet sanded to 8000 grit for a hand polished look and feel. This gives nets old world feel with the durability of modern materials.
Nets are constructed of wood and can be damaged. Nets damaged due to poor user care will not be warrantied. Provided item is returned for review by Jennings Net CO net may need replaced.
When not in use hang nets vertically in a dry area. When in use do not let nets lay in pools of water or fully submerged for periods of time.
